Over 300 volunteers serve in a variety of areas and help patients, staff and visitors. Volunteers can be found helping at the Information Desk, distributing evening refreshments and delivering mail throughout the hospital. Adult volunteers usually work shifts of two to four hours per day and may work one or more days/evenings per week depending on scheduling needs. An application process and orientation class, similar to what an employee would be required to go through, is required. Volunteer opportunities that are currently available at Bristol Hospital include: Nurses Stations Coffee Cart Discharge Pain Management Healthwatch Evening Nourishment Medworks Wellness Center Counseling Center A junior volunteer program is also available for those between the ages of 13 and 18.
